Coronavirus (COVID-19) Notice

A message from the Illinois Small Business Development Center at Sauk Valley Community College:

The spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) continues to create uncertainty and concern both globally and here in our community. We are actively monitoring the health alerts regarding COVID-19 and our highest priority is the wellbeing of our staff, clients and volunteers. We are following developments and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Our Illinois small businesses are being affected due to closures and reduction in foot traffic because people are social distancing. The short-term effects are already being felt and the long-term effects are still unknown. These are difficult and unprecedented times that have forced changes in how all of us do business, including us but know that we are still here to help! Please review the following changes to the delivery of our services:

For the health and safety of our staff and clients, effective immediately, we have decided to suspend all in-person events through the end of the Spring semester. Some trainings will be still be provided in webinar format.

Office + Client Meetings:

We are checking our e-mails and responding to inquiries as quickly as possible. Advising requests (both currently scheduled and new) will be conducted strictly by video conference or phone until further notice.

We will update this website as additional information and guidance is available. Please e-mail us at  for assistance.
