Appointment Expectations

What you can expect from the Center (US):

  • We typically follow up on appointment requests within 2-3 business days.

  • Equality in access to services regardless of race, creed, color, religion, sex, age, class, national origin, sexual orientation, or disability.

  • Professional advising services provided at no cost to you.

  • Privacy and confidentiality regarding information shared with the Center No information provided by you will be used or shared without your express written permission.

  • Confidentiality of your client status with the Center: no public use of your name, address or business identity will be made without your express written approval. 

Client Agreement

Your request for a no-cost advising session(s) indicates acceptance of professional guidance from the Center by which you agree to waive all claims against the Illinois SBDC at Sauk Valley Community College and it's staff or any other resources employed by or used in connection with these services. The Illinois SBDC at Sauk Valley Community College reserves the right to discontinue providing services to clients who cannot fulfill the expectations outlined above.

What we expect from you (CLIENT):

  • Request to schedule an appointment by registering as a client of the Center.

  • Prepare for meetings by bringing materials and providing requested financial and business data that will assist the Center advisors in serving your needs.

  • Punctual attendance to all scheduled appointments, or at least a minimum 24 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Frequently missed or cancelled appointments may result in lower priority during rescheduling, depending on current client demand of services.

  • Complete periodic session evaluations. You will also once or twice a year receive a request feedback for feedback from one of your sessions with your lead advisor at the Center.  Each of these feedback requests allows you to provide confidential feedback. The purpose of these forms is to document progress and provide the critical feedback needed for continuous improvement of the Center personnel. 

  • Share your success, milestones, and other key business accomplishments via an economic impact form or survey.  Submitting a brief report on your successes is critical to the long-term sustainability of your local Center. Your lead advisor will occasionally request  an "economic impact form" from you which will only take a few minutes to complete, sign, and submit.
