After a brief hiatus, beloved local restaurateurs Michael and Cynthia Flynn are thrilled to announce the opening of Flynnies Kitchen, located at 92 S Peoria Ave., formerly known as Pee Wee and Sow Belly's. This marks an exciting new chapter for the Flynns, who are dedicated to serving the Dixon community with the same warmth and commitment that have defined their culinary journey.
Challenge: In June 2024, Cindy Flynn reached out to SBDC with an urgent request. Her goal was to swiftly create a comprehensive business plan to present to banks for the purpose of purchasing a restaurant. Time was of the essence, and Cindy needed expert guidance to navigate this crucial step.
How Illinois SBDC helped: Business advisor Pam Clodfelter assisted Cindy throughout the process. Pam offered guidance on crafting an effective business plan and navigating the state business registration process. She also supplied essential resources, including market research data and business planning tools. Together, they explored various business structures, ensuring Cindy could make well-informed decisions. With Pam's expert help, Cindy developed a robust business plan tailored for bank financing presentations.
Result: On October 1, 2024, Cindy's hard work paid off as she received financing approval to purchase the building and commence renovations. Recognizing the importance of a strong market presence, Cindy also sought Pam's expertise in marketing to help craft an impactful announcement for the new venture.
