ABOUT US Theresa Hooper-Campos, Illinois SBDC Advisor

Theresa Hooper-Campos

Illinois SBDC Advisor

Although Theresa is a native of the Quad-Cities, she has lived in the Sauk Valley for 30 years and has served in many different roles in business, social services, education and other fields. She has always strived to empower, inspire and gently guide others to reach goals and enrich their lives. For nearly 20 of her 30 years here, she taught GED and ESL to adults and collaborated in serving hundreds of families and individuals in our community with professionalism and compassion. She has also been a member of the Hispanic Business
Leaders’ Committee with the Sauk Valley Area Chamber for many years now. Theresa obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Iowa in English and Spanish Education and in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.

Theresa will be the Bilingual Advisor with the SBDC. She will be helping minority and Latino/Hispanic small business owners with many aspects of starting up and operating their businesses. She is fully
bilingual in English and Spanish and has extensive connection with the local Latino/Hispanic community. In these times, assisting them
in accessing and applying for financial resources to be able to make it through the pandemic and survive after it is over will certainly be an important part of her work with the SBDC.

This is a very special opportunity for Theresa and the SBDC team to reach the diverse clients of the center and the communities in which she and they live and call home.
