The Illinois Small Business Development Center at Sauk Valley Community College

Illinois Small Business Development Centers are located throughout the state and provide information, confidential business guidance, training and other resources to start-up and existing small businesses.


Services Include:

  • One-on-one business advice and management assistance.

  • Assistance with the development of business plans.

  • Help with accessing market information and the development of marketing plans.

  • Help with the form of ownership and registration of a small business at the state and local level.  

  • Assistance with accessing business financing programs including help with SBA loan applications.

  • Proof of concept assistance and business idea validation.

  • Training and one-on-one assistance with business setup including website development and establishing an online presence. 

  • Help with financial analysis, planning, and ongoing management.

  • Access to business education and training opportunities.

  • Specialized services in technology, innovation and entrepreneurial development.

  • Help with selecting accounting tools, processes, and assistance with setup.

  • Help with selling your business and exit planning.

  • Assistance with finding the appropriate tools and technology for running your business. 

  • Help with developing marketing strategies for your owned (social media), earned (public relations), and paid media.
